Berry for Vogue

For Vogue's newest issue, Halle Berry makes history as the first black women since 1989 to appear on the cover of the September issue. The first black woman was none-other-than supermodel extraordinaire, Naomi Campbell over 20 years ago.

The Academy Award-winning actress looks stunning in her editorial and the cover. I'm not to sure about her hair, to me it ages her beauty. But I love the fact that she's wearing fall essential staple, velvet throughout the mag. Miss Berry is dressed in several gowns from Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang, Escada and Giorgio Armani. The cover and spread was shot by world-renowned photographer Mario Testino.

In the issue, Berry talks about motherhood, her career, Nahla, and her spilt from supermodel ex-boo Gabriel Aubry. About this historic issue of the mag the 43-year-old said, “What (being on the cover of the September Vogue) means for a woman of color and what that means in the Fashion world, what that means to pop culture, there was no way I could say, ‘No, I’m not going to be on the biggest issue of the year.’ ”

This issue is a big one for Vogue. The 726 page issue goes on sale in the US August 24. For more of Halle's interview click here. But for now, here are some pictures from the spread.

enjoy.
