The New Situation On The Shore

I heard of celebs getting paid to wear a label's clothing collection, but I have never heard of a star getting dough to STOP wearing a brand. Retailer Abercrombie and Fitch has offered "Jersey Shore" star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino money to stop wearing the brand.

On Tuesday in a statement A&F stated they were concerned that Mike's affiliation with the brand may damage their image. The retail store has offered Mike a “substantial payment” to stop wearing their classic American fashions. Mike is usually seen sporting A&F sweat pants. In the statement Abercrombie said, “We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image,” This isn’t the first time this has happened to a Shore cast mate, Coach bought Snooki a Gucci purse so she would stop wearing their label.

What's really funny about this situation, is about a year ago Abercrombie was selling "Jersey Shore" humor t-shirts which featured popular shore slang like, "GTL" and "The Fitchuation." Plus this guy NEVER has on a shirt anyways!!!

For a company that doesn't have any advertising or outside marketing, I would think they would love the additional attention. Either way it is a killer PR move by A&F to get the company's name out there.
