Toronto LG Fashion Week

"It's the most wonderful time of the year!"

It's not Christmas time or my birthday, but it is like a fashion Christmas! Today marks the beginning of Toronto LG Fashion Week and I'm grinning from ear to ear! Of course the collections on display this week are for fall/winter 2011, which brings sadness to my heart because it still feels like winter, but I'm still excited.

I love getting the chance to see Canadian fashion on display and being recognized on a worldwide scale. It's going to be a big week for fashion alumni and fashion designer rookies. There will be with 40 designers showing off their pieces at Toronto’s Heritage Court in Exhibition Place. Of course I'm super excited for the whole week, but I'm pretty eager to see the shows on Friday from Amanda Lew Kee and Line Knitwear shows. I've been seeing and hearing amazing things about their collections!

LG Fashion Week -- The Style of Fashion

Last day of LG Toronto's Fashion Week and it wrapped just as quickly as it came. It was filled with many great designs and trends for the upcoming season. But I think the most buzzed about show is happening today.

At 6:00pm fashion rookie, Amanda Lew Kee will be hitting the runway. And the Toronto fashion community is so excited about this new talent to hit the city. I have been LOVING HER work for the last little while. It's so innovative, fashion forward, young and hip. She's like the little fashion gift that came early before Christmas. SCORE!

You may remember back during the MuchMusic Awards, Canadian cutie Shenae Grimes was our liipstik approved choice fro the big night. And she was decked out in an Amanda Lew Kee design. LOVED IT.




So let's just say, it's a good last day for fashion week.

Liipstik Approved -- MMVA 2010 Edition

Last night, one of the biggest Canadian award shows brought some of the youngest and brightest stars from North America right to 299 Queen Street West. The 2010 MuchMusic Video Awards had the streets of downtown Toronto buzzing.

The MMVAs is my favourite Canadian Award show, mainly because it's all about the fans. They are right up and personal with the celebs during every aspect of the show. And also I LOVE the red carpet. Queen Street is shut down and covered in red velvet carpet and all the celebs get to enter the award show in most creative and coolest ways. In previous years people have arrived at the award show in Ferrari's, military trucks and school buses. But this year the award for the coolest arrival goes to............ KATY PERRY. She came in on an ice cream truck!!! ahahaha. It's so her to do that. It's fun, colourful, bright and creative. I wanna make an entrance like that everyday!!!!!


Now to the most important part of the show... who was the best dressed. I just want to start off and say, the ladies came to have fun and dressed to kill!! All the hemlines were SHORT and the heels were SKY HIGH. Just like they should be when you're at such a fun and interactive award show.

First up are Canadian sweethearts Shenae Grimes and Nina Dobrev. These girls were once stars of "Degrassi: The Next Generation" and now the pair are blowing up televisions worldwide as stars of "90210" and "The Vampire Diaries." Both ladies went for a darker look.

Nina was in navy blue sequined Spring 2010 Tadashi Shoji beaded strapless mini dress that she paired with Brian Atwood Wagner pumps. She looked gorgeous and sophisticated. I think I just love anything with sequins!! lol HEY.... DON'T HATE ME FOR IT!



Shenae went for a more playful look with a sheer top, cute leather pleated skirt, studded black belt by Toronto designer Amanda Lew Kee and a playful bun. What I loved about this look is that you could tell she was having so much fun with it. And that is what I love to see most when a celeb hits an award show! And that's why she gets LIIPSTIK APPROVED stamp of approval. Have fun with fashion PEOPLE!!
