Louis Vuitton's Spring of Change

For Louis Vuitton's 2011 spring/summer menswear ad campaign the brand features it's first Asian male model to rep the luxury label. Godfrey Gao is a Taiwanese-Canadian actor and he's the newest face for the French brand making him the first Asian male to be a spokesmodel for Louis Vuitton.

I love to see more ethnic models and faces represented in the fashion industry and the fact that Godfrey is now a spokesmodel for the brand is even a bigger step for model diversity in the industry. I really hope more brands step towards this direction and add more ethnic faces to front the image of their labels.

Godfrey Gao looks amazing in the campaign and I can't wait to see more from the Taiwanese-Canadian cutie. Godfrey hails from Canada's west coast, Vancouver to be exact, and in the ad he is pictured with the Damier Graphite “ELVIS” bag.

For his killer good looks and setting the bar for ethnic models in the fashion world Godfrey Gao is definatley a Liipstik Freshman. Congrats on the amazing milestone.

FreshMen -- Louis Vuitton Mens S/S 2011

“It’s a rhapsody of three virtual scenarios for a digital bohemian, a man who travels the world from behind his computer screen.”-Paul Helbers

That statement from Paul Helbers the studio director, described the direction in which fashion house Louis Vuitton had chosen to go when creating the bags for the S/S 2011 mens collection. The collection still maintained its staples the weekend bag and shoulder bag but also added a few designs to the mix to appeal to different kind of men. A lot of men don't really do the whole "murse" (man purse) thing but I feel like Louis Vuitton is showing that you can have a nice bag and it doesn't have to look feminine.

The distressed "Articles de voyage" denim shoulder bag is one of my faves and is definitely a new edition to the brands classic collection. The black "Utah" bag with the tribal tattooed inspired monogram on the front is another Liipstik fave because it is masculine yet very fashionable, versatile well crafted and sleek! Which bag caught your eye Freshmen?

The Bono Bag

Rock star, humanitarian and handbag designer?

That's right! Bono and his wife, Ali Hewson, star in the new Louis Vuitton ad campaign. What's so special about this ad is the famous U2 singer exclusively designed the bag that his wife is holding in the picture. Part of the proceeds from the bag will go to help fund the cotton plantations in Uganda.

For Bono this is more then an ad campaign and a new Louis accessory. Bono created the Edun, which is a fashion brand that supports jobs and fair trade in Africa. Louis Vuitton supports the brand and they have collaborated with the rock star to create the Keepall model handbag.

Everything about the bag was created by Bono, even the special key chain with charms. You can get a hand on it for $4,900.

The bag is actually nice, classic and chic. I likey. Check out pictures of the bag and the making of the campaign, which was also shot in Africa.

Is All Black Everything No More?

Mr. All Black Everything decided to ditch his signature look for a cooler lighter casual feel while kicking it on the beach with his friends Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin. He chose to rock a white tee, some tan cargo's, and a fly gold watch. The piece that has peaked my interest in this whole ensemble are his sneakers. They're the Louis Vuitton and Kanye West collabo luxury sneaker called the "Dons".

I loved the collection Kanye launched in 2009 but I didn't really see anyone rocking the kicks but that's probably because of the hefty pricetag, the shoes go for anywhere from $840-$1140. These joints in particular go for $870, nice to see the Jigga Man supporting 'Ye. More pics of Jay-Z stylin on em, below!

Exclusives -- Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2010/2011 Ad Campaign!

Hey here's a sneak peak of the Louis Vuitton F/W 2011 ad campaign shoot. The models they've selected are seasoned and know how to deliver the perfect shot! Christy Turlington is looking hella fierce, her eyes are absolutely striking and they're burning holes in the lens, the way she's connecting with the camera! Natalia Vodianova and Karen Elson are also serving it up as well. Can I say Marc Jacobs is super lol, I love when he speaks!
