McQueen Scarves!

The House of Alexander McQueen has had a phenominal year and they have no one else to thank but Sarah Burton for their great success. Just last month, she stunned the world with the most talked about wedding dress of the century for Kate Middleton, which in now a staple in fashion history. Now Sarah is still desinging for the Royal family, well kind of. I would call it the fashion Royal family.

Burton has put together a collection of silk scarves called "God Save McQueen." The collection features five different designs which all embody all the things McQueen wanted to accomplish in his career.

My fave scarf is the one with a skull pattern. Loves it. Check out the rest of the designs below.

Accessory Edition -- All I want for Christmas is...

Helmut Lang Shearling-trimmed jersey jacket $1,175

Only 2 more days till Christmas and yet again I'm adding to my increasingly huge Christmas list. Yes I know I'm cutting it really close but I'm sure Santa already knew what I wanted before I knew. Yea, yea, yea I know he isn't a psychic HOWEVER, if he's able to know if the world has been bad or good I'm SURE he knows what you want..I'm just saying. Just in case Santa is in the early stages of Alzheimer's I feel it necessary, just to be on the safe side to make sure that I remind him about what I want. I mean I'm not asking for the world just a few gadgets, some statement pieces, hot shoes and bags, I mean it really isn't THAT much *side eye*. If I had to tell Santa the reason behind why I should have these pieces I would definitely say because I deserve it and I want to spread cheer all year round in style! That is all. Check the accessory edition below!

Alexander McQueen, Crepe Blazer $1,920

Costume national ring $135

Stella McCartney chain purse $1,465

Movado Women's 'Museum Classic' Black Leather Strap Watch $569

Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte Vein eggplant heel $848

Runway Fab -- Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen S/S 2011 Show

Sarah Burton, Alexander McQueens successor proved she was able to maintain the high drama and keep McQueens s/s collection just the way McQueen would have wanted it. There was a lot of detail in his collection, the pieces were so intricate and beautiful, unusual, flowy and feminine just how McQueen would have had it.

I'm in love with the dress made out of wheat, its so creative and seems like something Gaga would wear. The fluttering butterfly dress is a dream, I LOVE butterflies the colours are absolutely stunning and the structured shape of the dress is sexy! I didn't know what to expect from this collection but as you can tell I'm really pleased, I feel like McQueen was a part of this collection so Sarah Burton did an amazing job, Kudos! Check some Liipstik faves below!

Sneak Peak -- Puma by Alexander McQueen 2010-11 Collections!

Puma and the late Alexander McQueen have teamed up to design some fab shoes, I wouldn't normally put Puma and fab in the same sentence but since McQueen has put his spin on the brand their status has definately been elevated.

When I first saw the shoes I thought they were hot I think Mcqueen did a great job staying true to the Puma brand but at the same time putting a more modern and edgy spin on the shoe to broaden their appeal.

Here are some pics from the F/W 2010 "Tiger and Crane" collection and a preview pic from the S/S 2011 collabo!

Alexander McQueen Tribute Shoot

Last week Liipstik told you about the Kristin Knox book about the life of late designer Alexander McQueen entitled "Alexander McQueen, Genius of a Generation." And now supermodel Lily Donaldson, photographer Steven Klein and stylist Carine Roitfeld have teamed up for a couture tribute photo shoot in honour of McQueen.

I can honestly say looking at these pictures I didn’t recognise Donaldson with her short slicked back platinum blonde hair and her black eyebrows. This look is a total transformation from her normal girl next door look and is perfect for this couture shoot. The styling, hair and makeup were all on point. It`s dramatic, classic, envelop pushing, basically everything that is McQueen.

J`adore.
