Liipstik Approved -- Marc by Marc Jacobs F/W 2011

Marc by Marc Jacobs NYFW F/W '11 <3

Loving all the warm colourful hues for Marc by Marc Jacobs F/W '11 collection Marc took inspirations from the seventies and paired cute platforms with socks which seems to be uber popular on the runways, especially for the last few seasons. Loving the combination of fun animal prints and velvet, colours are so rich and pop so well, its a solid collection for Marc once again, Kudos!

Runway Fab -- Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen S/S 2011 Show

Sarah Burton, Alexander McQueens successor proved she was able to maintain the high drama and keep McQueens s/s collection just the way McQueen would have wanted it. There was a lot of detail in his collection, the pieces were so intricate and beautiful, unusual, flowy and feminine just how McQueen would have had it.

I'm in love with the dress made out of wheat, its so creative and seems like something Gaga would wear. The fluttering butterfly dress is a dream, I LOVE butterflies the colours are absolutely stunning and the structured shape of the dress is sexy! I didn't know what to expect from this collection but as you can tell I'm really pleased, I feel like McQueen was a part of this collection so Sarah Burton did an amazing job, Kudos! Barbie Goes High Fashion!!

So there is this dope blog dedicated to creating and styling high fashion Barbie's and its been getting a lot of attention from bloggers everywhere. I know it doesn't sound like anything special but these dolls look like real live humans, modeled after actresses, singers and other celebs.

As a child I was a tomboy so basically I was the kid who popped the top of the Barbie's head off and broke apart their limbs. But maybe if I had a fly Barbie like the ones here I would have thought twice about tearing them apart lol.

From these pics it's safe to assume Barbie has definitely got some fly friends in her clique and some stiff competition because these Barbie's are fresh to death. I also LOVE the fact that the Barbie's are of different ethnicity because it shows there isn't one standard of beauty, which is important for young girls to see! Liipstik Picks -- Emilio Pucci Milan Fashion Week

Emilio Pucci for Spring collection wasq nothing less than hot! Plungling necklines, body hugging shapes, sexy cuts and luxe fabrics took centre stage on the catwalk. This collection is definately for a daring woman who is confident and isn't afraid of showing a little skin. This collection is definately one that I love mainly because I love being a risk taker when I go out, pushing the envelope is my thing. Can we also talk about how sexy those lace up boots are? In the words of Rachel Zoe "I die" those are a must have for spring!

Liipstik Picks -- DSquared2 Milan Fashion Week

DSquared2's collection for spring 2011 was fantabulous! I swear I wanted ALL the pieces, no exaggerations. It was geek chic, edgy and sophisticated all rolled into one. This collection is definitely different from what Dean and Dan Caten usually drop each season, but this is a change in a positive direction. All the pieces are wearable and I like that the pieces are flattering on all body types and women of all ages can find something fun from their collection to wear. This collection is super versatile, quirky and masculine but with the right amount of feminine bells and whistles, and for that DSquared2's Spring 2011 collection is Liipstik Approved!!

Exclusives -- Proenza Schouler Resort 2011 Collection

Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McColloughs collection for Proenza Schouler seems to have a more exotic feel in comparison to the other Resort 2011 collections. Inspirations seem to be drawn from the Indian Culture but at the same time they found a way to stay in step with what fashionista's want to be seen wearing.

I loved the pieces in the collection but I'm more of a fan of the peep toe lace up bootie sandals, uber hot! My favourite look would have to be the sandy gray high waisted shorts topped off with the black see-through lightly knit crew neck top. As you can see this collection is heavy with eye catching patterns, Proenza Schouler made the looks work by pairing prints from the same colour family therefore allowing the pieces in the collection to flow cohesively. I liked that the designers chose to play with prints and fabrics because it added a textured touch to the collection, making it more exciting. Check Liipstiks fave look below!

Liipstik's Summer Swimsuit Picks!!

With the weather hitting the low 40's in Toronto, most of us are finding ourselves heading to the beach more often than ever before.

Whether you're going to the beach to tan or you're actually planning to swim a cute bathing suit, that fits will elevate your confidence and allow you to enjoy your time so much more.

  • 1,2,3,7&10 Are basic suits with cute detailing ideal for anybody who feels comfortable in it.
  • 4. Is a mix 'n' match piece cute boy shorts and the detailed halter top. A neutral bottom allows the eye to be drawn upward toward the detailed top. Rule of thumb for mix and match pieces is that whichever body part you want to accentuate you tend to wear the detailing on that piece.
  • 5,6 Are not really ideal for swimming they are more for posing up on the beach sipping mimosa's and enjoying the weather!
  • 8,9 Adds a creative twist to the original one piece, who says it has to be boring! These suits cover you up but at the same time they're super sexy, loving the black Zimmerman with the sexy cutouts!
