Runway Fab -- Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen S/S 2011 Show

Sarah Burton, Alexander McQueens successor proved she was able to maintain the high drama and keep McQueens s/s collection just the way McQueen would have wanted it. There was a lot of detail in his collection, the pieces were so intricate and beautiful, unusual, flowy and feminine just how McQueen would have had it.

I'm in love with the dress made out of wheat, its so creative and seems like something Gaga would wear. The fluttering butterfly dress is a dream, I LOVE butterflies the colours are absolutely stunning and the structured shape of the dress is sexy! I didn't know what to expect from this collection but as you can tell I'm really pleased, I feel like McQueen was a part of this collection so Sarah Burton did an amazing job, Kudos! Check some Liipstik faves below!

Diary of a Fab Stylist -- Burberry Studded Motorcycle Jacket!!

So while checking out pics from the fashion week runways I came across this studded beauty. Model Charlotte Wiggins is modelling an extraordinary studded Burberry motorcycle jacket complete with spiked hardware and luxe fabrics for their Spring 2011 collection. I'm kinda over the whole studded-out everything look but I'm salivating over this jacket. So because I'm completely obsessed I decided to check some footage from the Burberry show to see how the jacket moves on the runway and came across this crazy clip of a model taking a horrible tumble on the runway during fashion week while wearing the fabulous coat. Check the clip below and try not to laugh lol!!

Liipstik Picks -- Emilio Pucci Milan Fashion Week

Emilio Pucci for Spring collection wasq nothing less than hot! Plungling necklines, body hugging shapes, sexy cuts and luxe fabrics took centre stage on the catwalk. This collection is definately for a daring woman who is confident and isn't afraid of showing a little skin. This collection is definately one that I love mainly because I love being a risk taker when I go out, pushing the envelope is my thing. Can we also talk about how sexy those lace up boots are? In the words of Rachel Zoe "I die" those are a must have for spring!

Liipstik Picks -- DSquared2 Milan Fashion Week

DSquared2's collection for spring 2011 was fantabulous! I swear I wanted ALL the pieces, no exaggerations. It was geek chic, edgy and sophisticated all rolled into one. This collection is definitely different from what Dean and Dan Caten usually drop each season, but this is a change in a positive direction. All the pieces are wearable and I like that the pieces are flattering on all body types and women of all ages can find something fun from their collection to wear. This collection is super versatile, quirky and masculine but with the right amount of feminine bells and whistles, and for that DSquared2's Spring 2011 collection is Liipstik Approved!!

Runway Fab -- Prada Spring Summer 2011

For those of you who missed the show, here is the video from Prada's S/S 2011 collection. As per usual Prada brings the fire in a sophisticated show with bright hues and their signature noir pieces! Contrary to what everyone else was doing in their collection Prada kept neutral hues to a minimum and jazzed pieces up with stripes and different patterns. As per usual the accessories from this collection were on point and it seems like fur accents are gonna be a hot add on for any look. Check pics of them below!! Enjoy!

Liipstik's NYFW Picks -- Thakoon Spring 2011

Thakoon came with thesexy sheer pieces, python and florals adding a fab twist to these fun pieces. The collection was flirty and feminin, suggesting that white is the new camel of spring since its been seen all over the runways. I liked that the collection wasn't too fussy and distracting it was airy and sophisticated

Liipstik's NYFW Picks -- Jill Stuart

I know Fashion week ended last night but we're still going to show you some images from our favourite shows this week. I loved the Jill Stuart spring collection because the silhouettes were flattering, the lines were crisp and the tailored pieces I absolutely adored. Jill Stuart played with the colour palate incorporating pops of colour to mesh with the neutral hues of the season. I really liked her collection but at the same time I kind of feel like she drew inspirations from different designers past collections. Either way I can definately see myself working a few of these pieces so I'm not mad, I wasn't a big Jill stuart fan before but I felt this collection was more interesting then her past collections so its a good look. I do have to ask myself though, if the reason I like her collection is due to the fact that she kind of incorporated elements from other designers. Anyways enjoy while I ponder that thought.

Liipstik's NYFW Picks -- Herve Leger by Max Azria

Max Azria's Herve Leger collection was one to die for, sexy lbd's, his signature bandage dresses and beautiful hues in pastels and nudes rocked the runway. Even though I've been over the whole bandage dress idea, I had sooooo many favourite dresses it was hard narrowing it down to 12 pics. The whole collection was well done in my opinion and the fact that Max Azria has been doing the "bandage dress" for 3 consecutive seasons and is finding ways to evolve it to still make it look current and fresh is definately a talent!!

Liipstik's NYFW Picks -- Derek Lam

Derek Lams collection is definitely radiating 70's glam, from the jumpsuits, wide-leg trousers, and trenches it gives spring a fun theme. I like that Lam doesn't stick with boring neutral hues that many of the previous designers boasted in their collections. He incorporates neutrals, but spices it up with complementing colours and prints making it more visually appealing and wearable. Although I found a lot of pieces that I liked in this collection the printed maxi dress in black and white is sooo GORGE! I don't even like maxi dresses because I feel its too much material for a tall person to wear but I love the shape and look of this dress and it definitely looks romantic and flattering!

Shoe Fab -- Christian Siriano for Payless Spring 2011

So last week Project Runway alum, Christian Siriano debuted his spring 2011 collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and the models were wearing his shoes from his Payless collection for spring as well. These shoes are baaaddd, like I want all of them lol, Siriano was apparently inspired by African, Chinese and Indian culture for this collection.

The heels on these joints are so dope, my only concern about these shoes is when they debut for Payless in the spring is that Payless will tone down the runway versions of the shoes to make them more mainstream. I hope they don't change the original too much mainly because they look hot as is and I'm sure a lot of fashionista's will be hitting up Payless to get their hands on these releases, especially since they will be under $50, what a steal!!

Liipstik's NYFW Picks -- Max Azria Spring 2011

Max Azria stuck with a neutral palette as well for their spring collection, fabrics were light silhouettes were flowy definitely gave off a minimalistic vibe. The looks definitely screamed spring and the pieces were chic perfect for pairing with other more complicated pieces. I liked the collection because the pieces were like a blank canvas where you can build your look. Fave pieces would have to be the bathing suits I just wish they were in a look-at-me hue though!

Liipstik NYFW Picks -- Jason Wu Spring 2011!

Jason Wu's spring collection by far has got to be my favourite to date for New York Fashion Week. Wu knows how to dress a woman judging by the flattering silhouettes seen on the models, the looks were soft and feminine and the dresses were very fairytale-like and romantic. The whole collection came together very well keeping structured looks to a minimum, while still incorporating pleated trousers and great blazers to tie everything together. I can actually see myself in almost all these looks because it caters to women of all age groups. By the way loving the actual runway, it looks like a big water slide and it really allows the garments to stand out. LOVES!

Video fab -- Fashions Night Out 2010!

So finally I got my hands on some Fashion Night out footage for those of you who has missed it. Check the video for Fashion Night out hosted by Andre Leon Talley and Hanneli Mustaparta, the commentary was tres annoying but I enjoyed the other aspects of the webcast. By the way can we talk about Ms. Gisele, she annihilated that runway, Naomi we see you, WORK! Her walk is too amazing for words, get it girl!!!

*btw Loves Pharrell`s performance, would have loved to see Nelly Furtado since she is singing the chorus on the track, nonetheless Skateboard P is such a cutie working that military inspired jacket
