Tom Ford S/S 11 Eyewear x S/S 2011 Runway Show

This is Liipstik's first post of the New Year and of course we had to bring the fire with something fabulous from designer Tom Ford. I can't think of a better post than the footage from the VIP fashion show Ford had for his women's collection and his eye wear campaign for s/s 11 featuring Abbey Lee Kershaw.

Miss Abbey has switched it up on us and I'm loving this blonde on her. The campaign features some pieces from Fords womenswear collection and I see my favourite necklace from his collection has made an appearance once again. I commented on the gigantic crystal necklace a while back when they featured Ford's collection in Vogue and I will reiterate once again that I adoreeeee this necklace! The campaign is solid drawing inspiration from the 70's in a chic and sophisticated way.

The fashion show is in itself amazing, its very intimate and the who's who of fashion are in attendance. The models include Natalia Vodianova, Liya Kebede and Beyonce to name a few, Ford used women from all shapes, sizes, and walks of life to represent on his runway and it was dope. The show was very interactive and fun, I can only imagine how amazing the experience was as an attendee!

News -- Has this Balmain Dress Broken a Record?

Which dress is taking the magazine world by storm and stirring up a little contoversy as well? Its none other than the sparkly gold Balmain number that was featured in the F/W 2010 collection. Seems like Anja Rubik must have really worked that dress on the runway because editors from 7 Magazines pegged the dress to be on their cover. The dress costs $31,000 for the shorter version and $34,000 for the longer version according to the Daily Mail. I guess the good thing about the dress is thaqt it doesn't look the same in every picture, you have to kind of examine it to realize that the dresses are the same. Below are the covers and also the runway look so in your opinion who rocked it best?

Abbey Lee for Vogue Deutsch, August 2010

Toni Garrn for Vogue EspaƱa, November 2010

Claudia Schiffer for Zeit Magazin, October 2010

Cindy Crawford for Vogue India, October 2010

Natalia Vodianova for Harper's Bazaar UK, December 2010

Roberto Cavalli Celebrates 40

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Roberto Cavalli in the fashion industry. And to celebrate the world-renowned designer threw a party during Milan Fashion Week in Paris.

The party took place right after his showing during fashion week. That's right he flew from Milan to Paris to celebrate and it was just as spectacular as the show itself. Many celebs and fashion elite joined the festivities like Rachel Bilson, Heidi Klum, model Natalia Vodianova, Leona Lewis, Taylor Swift and many more.

The party decor was just as glam, stunning and sophisticated as the guests who attended, both inside and outside the venue.

Looked like a glorious and fun affair. Hey Mr. Cavalli, where was our invite!? Maybe next time. Congrats to 40 years! Can't wait for more.

News -- Natalia Vodianova New Face of Bugaboo(RED)

I love models who have a sense of social responsibility, its not always about striking a hot pose and stepping out in some fab couture, turning heads, breaking hearts and taking names. I always appreciate when a model steps outside her pretty face and uses her supermodel powers for good. Natalia Vodianova is no stranger to helping people who are less fortunate, she is now the face of Bugaboo(RED) a new Product(RED)initiative. The objective of the campaign is to help pregnant women who have HIV.

As a mother of three this campaign is very close to Natalia's heart. She says "the disease is a very smart enemy of the human race and the fact that children are born carrying this enemy makes me feel sick". Kudos to Natalia for being a part of this project, they have already provided medical care for over 18,000 women in Africa to reduce the transmission of the virus to their babies. I hope more models follow in the footsteps of Natalia who also has another charity called the Naked Heart Foundation. For more information on Bugaboo(RED) check out the link below.
